A day at the beachfront

Yep. That’s the Pacific Ocean back there.  Miah and Maliah have seen it before and would much rather play on the swing set.

Today in LA

Today we stripped all of the streamers from the handle bars of our bikes and tried to paint each one with water colors.

You’ve made mistakes, too…
Here. Have a fresh cherry, and smile.

Happy Birthday!

Well we reached a another new milestone. THREE.
This year we had planned to just have some cupcakes at the house, but our extra special friends Errington, Leslie and Carol wanted to do a pizza birthday party at their home in Orange County.

OC is a far piece for most of the folks in LA, but we had a good-sized group of well wishers and partyers – and a good time. There was face painting, toys, music and  conversation. Carol gifted Daddy with her special baked beans. Yummy.

Cousin Alfonso Smith, Gales, LaShonda, Sara, Angela and new baby cousin Nyla came all the way up from San Diego, and Cousin spencer Melville, Uncle Charles and Aunt Marcy came over from Hawthorne. Of course the brothers were there and extra special friend Cornella Harris (“Nanny”) came with the girl’s god-brother and friend.

What’s new at age 3????
Just getting them to hold up enough fingers is a challenge. But potty training is almost completed, with only an occasional accident. Happy birthday to Uncle Errington’s  baby grandson, and our cousin Owen Smith, celebrating his 3rd, up there in Redmond Washington.

See you all next year.

The First Movie in 3 Years

Miah and Maliah finally reached an age of maturity that allows them to “almost” sit still for an entire movie.

They were begging to see “The LORAX”, but eventually they got bored and started climbing the walls. Maybe they prefer a good Terminator movie like daddy.

Anyway. We will try again soon. At least they were not crying and screaming like some of those rude children 🙂

Actually I’m wrong. We have seen a movie since the girls were born. “We saw Benjiman Buttons” while Mommy was still with child, and then we left them with Granny and took Aunt Alma and Aunt Cronicle to see “Precious”. What a treat that was.
