The Philanthropist

maliah guitar2While rummaging through a drawer. Maliah discovered one of their baby cloths that we apparently never got around to using.

She came to me and said “We have to give this cloth to a baby.”
I told that we don’t know any new babies to give it to.
Yes there must be, she said. I’ll just put it back. Sooner or later, one of these Mamas will pop up with a baby.”

Dreams

Maliah woke up early this morning – which is rare for her, because she usually stays up later than Miah, Also rare, she woke up in good spirits. She started rattling on about something, and I decided to slow her down and see what she was trying to tell me.

I finally realized that she was trying to relate to me a dream. This was the first time that  she has even admitted that she had a dream, let alone recalling one.

From what I gathered, the dream was actually a little disturbing. She said “that I was working on the computer and the guy came up to me, and I jumped in the car and drove away,”

Now, she knows that I work on computers, but the situation seemed to describe me working on one of the business machines that I service and maintain. Let’s just say that I’m out at all times of night, servicing 24 hour business concerns, like gas stations and convenience stores when they lose contact with their servers and can’t accept ATM transactions.

Occasionally I encounter ner-do-wells, seeking an advantage, hoping to get a couple of bucks the old fashioned way. Actually it would be a waste of their time, because the Police would be on me and them, the minute I use my codes out of sequence. Anyway, my babies dream caused me to keep a more diligent eye on surroundings – just in case she’s a prophet or a sooth-sayer.

Sweet Dreams itty-bitty.

Hillarious

maliah guitar2One of Mommy’s cousins came to visit. I generally sleep in PJ’s but I tore them real bad, so this morning when I got up for a glass of water, I just slipped on my swimming trunks – for modesty sake.

Maliah was already up and standing in the living room. When she saw me coming she ran to me and tried to push me back out of the room, “screaming Daddy stop, go back!”

I was confused by her actions, and asked her just what was the matter?

“You don’t have on any pants, and cousin is out here!”

I could barely contain my laughter. They usually see me in pajamas, and sometimes catch me in between PJ’s and street cloths, but I never wear shorts, and the sight of them made Maliah sure that I was parading around the house in black underwear. You can’t buy this kind of entertainment.

A day at the beachfront

Yep. That’s the Pacific Ocean back there.  Miah and Maliah have seen it before and would much rather play on the swing set.

Sunday

The babes will be 4 in just over 30 days. We had an excellent Christmas. Thank you to all the Aunts and Uncles that made it happen.

Funny enough, I saw this little $20. plastic stove set at the grocery store (not toys r us) the day before Xmas Eve. It took me and brother Lamont all night to put it together,  but it turns out that Miah and Maliah are Julia Childs and Rachel Ray. They stand there stirring imaginary sauces, boiling eggs, setting timers on the toy microwave and checking the cupcakes in the oven.

They set the table and make tea. I can’t tell you how many plastic  boiled eggs I’ve eaten since Christmas.

The funniest part is to watch them clean up the kitchen when they are done. I mean they wipe down the whole thing as if something boiled over and ran down the sides.

THEN.
They wash the dishes. You can’t buy this level of entertainment.
